The history of Savinelli began in 1876 when Achille Savinelli Sr. opened one of the world’s first stores exclusively dedicated to smoking accessories in the center of Milan.
In 1948, Achille Jr. established the manufacturing facility, and Savinelli pipes quickly gained prestige in markets worldwide. Achille succeeded in creating a luxury product that could compete with, and even surpass, the quality of the biggest names. Today, Savinelli represents the highest quality standard in pipe-making worldwide.
Over the years, hundreds of different series have been created, each distinguished by elegant design and meticulous attention to detail. The range includes both classic and traditional models as well as modern and innovative creations, with finishes varying from smooth to sandblasted and rusticated. Thanks to the combination of master craftsmanship and high-quality briar, every Savinelli pipe is a true work of art.

As tradition dictates, near Christmas we present the St. Nicholas pipe. This year it features a brown rustic finish. The stem is crafted from pearlescent white acrylic, embellished with two gold bands that enclose a genuine red "Christmas" acrylic insert.

A pipe was produced to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Raphael's death on April 6, 1520. We created 500 numbered, brown sandblasted pipes with a black acrylic stem. This unique model features a curved Rhodesian shape with a round shank.

Savinelli continues its tradition of the Serie Collection, established in 1985, by introducing a new model each year that is highly sought after by collectors worldwide. In 2021, we present a curved Billiard model featuring a triangular shank. This model comes in four different finishes: natural smooth (limited to only 62 numbered pieces), brown smooth, sandblasted, and sandblasted with a smooth rim. The stem is crafted from black acrylic and includes bands of varying thickness along the shank, interspersed with black acrylic rings that create a harmonious connection between the shank and the stem.

The first pipe in this collection is named Arlecchino, which originates from Bergamo. This character is known for wearing a costume adorned with colorful lozenges, symbolizing a lively personality. The pipe itself features a black rusticated finish, complemented by a vibrant acrylic stem that reflects the multi-colored costume of the Arlecchino mask.

In 2021, Venice celebrated its 1600th anniversary, tracing back to March 25, 421. Savinelli, in collaboration with the Academia de la Pipa in Venice, proudly participated in the event by producing 421 original commemorative pipes, each numbered, for enthusiasts and collectors.The pipe designed for this significant anniversary of the Serenissima features a blue acrylic band, symbolizing the waves of the lagoon. Most notably, it is adorned with a stylized silver gondola iron applied to the briar, representing the iconic symbol of Venice known worldwide.This commemorative pipe has received the patronage of the Municipality of Venice, the Gondoliers' Association, and the Italian Federation of Pipe Clubs.

Dante

Dante Alighieri, often referred to as "The Poet," is celebrated as the father of the Italian language, a political theorist, and a philosopher. He was born in 1265 and passed away in September 1321 at the age of 56 in Ravenna, where he lived in exile. Dante is best known for his work, the Divine Comedy, which is considered one of the greatest masterpieces of world literature and was written in the vernacular to ensure it was accessible to all readers. In addition to the Divine Comedy, he authored other notable works, including Convivio, De Monarchia, and De vulgari eloquentia.

The Ovalina pipe features an oval-shaped bowl and a straight design. First introduced in the 1950s, it was considered a very elegant choice. However, over time, its popularity declined because it was challenging to produce and not well-suited for beginners. As a result, demand shifted towards more traditional bowl shapes for greater convenience. In reality, the Ovalina boasts impressive proportions and elegance, showcasing a captivating vintage style. It is available in a sandblasted finish, where Savinelli excels in crafting high-quality bowls that have a rich brown color and are meticulously worked to achieve a soft texture. The pipe also features a yellow-toned acrylic stem, which was quite popular at the time.

The Luisa Fiammata series celebrates the last fifty years of Savinelli's history and is named in honor of Luisa Bozzetti, who recently retired as the director of the Savinelli factory after 50 years of dedicated service. Luisa joined Savinelli at the age of 15 in 1973. Over the years, she mastered the intricate details of production and ultimately became the factory director. This series pays tribute to her significant contributions with a selection of models, some of which have not been in production for years. These models are presented in both smooth and sandblasted finishes, showcasing exceptional grain that Luisa personally selected.

To celebrate the Chinese New Year and the start of the Year of the Dragon, Savinelli has created a limited series dedicated to this unique mythical creature in the Chinese zodiac. The pipe is a semi-curved Prince model, with only 98 pieces available, and it features a smooth natural finish. The mouthpiece is crafted in a striking red and black craquele design, inspired by the traditional colors depicting Chinese dragons. Additionally, the Dragon's head is elegantly represented on a specially designed sterling silver band, weighing approximately 26 grams, making this pipe truly one-of-a-kind.

The Esploratore series includes three distinct models, each featuring Canadian shapes: the Marinaio (blue mouthpiece), the Alpino (green mouthpiece), and the Boscaiolo (brown mouthpiece). A standout characteristic of these Canadian pipes is their longer shank, which is a rarity and provides a fresher smoking experience. All models have a straight design and come exclusively with a 3mm bore. Additionally, each model is available in both smooth and rusticated Bordeaux finishes.

With this series, we want to celebrate Italian Carnival and its masks, traditionally associated with different cities. Balanzone, who gives his name to this series, is a doctor of law: he is, in fact, the caricature of the pompous and pretentious Bolognese lawyer. His very name proves this, as Balanzone comes from the Bolognese word "balanzån," meaning balance, which is the symbol of the law. He is dressed in a black toga, white collar and cuffs, a large Bolognese hat, and a black jacket and cloak. He is highly esteemed among the other masks, who often turn to him for legal advice, which he gives confidently but of no real value.

Last mask of the Carnevale series: Colombina is one of the most famous masks of the Italian Commedia dell'Arte. Originally from Venice, Colombina represents the clever and lively maid, often in the service of a mistress. Her name reflects her light and spirited nature. Colombina's costume is very simple and colorful, reflecting her vivacious personality. The chosen model for the pipe is the 673 KS with a mouthpiece inspired by the classic red and blue colours of Colombina's costume and a white band. This series is offered in smooth natural and rusticated black finishing.
