For all pipes belonging to the Freehandcategory, the images correspond exactly to the pipe you will receive, as well as for some predefined series such as the Jubilee and the Punto Oro. For all the other series, however, there is the possibility that you will not receive exactly the pipe that was photographed but an equivalent one. However, the same quality is guaranteed.
Most pipes are supplied with either a black or natural bowl. In case of preferences, please indicate it by writing to sales@savinelli.it.

Savinelli pipes are colored by hand with natural products and after a few smokes it is possible that the pipe loses some of its original color and becomes more opaque. This process can be influenced by particular conditions to which the briar of the pipe is subjected such as a temperature that is too high, the humidity of the environment or even excessive sweating of the hand which can vary from individual to individual. The choice of hole depends on the way you smoke with or without a filter.

The 3mm hole allows you to smoke the pipe without any type of filter.

The 6mm hole Savinelli has a convertible system so that you can decide to smoke with the balsa or using the appropriate adapter without a filter.

The 9mm hole Savinelli, on the other hand, is suitable for those who prefer to smoke with a balsa or salt filter.

It is a filtering system based on the properties of balsa wood. It allows the absorption, in a natural way and without additives or chemical materials, of humidity and the annoying drizzle that is created inside the pipe barrel; it also ensures less encrustation and therefore greater cleanliness. This absorption power derives from the numerous porous fibers of the balsa which guarantee perfect smoking without alterations to the fragrance and aroma of the tobacco.

This patented filtering system has been tested both by the EURATOM Research Center in Ispra and by the CHEMICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY Inc. research center in the United States, with approximately the same result: "...the filter has the ability to absorb the 77% of the nicotine and 91% of the condensate contained in the tobacco without altering its aroma....".

The use of the balsa filter is extremely simple. It is advisable to replace it every two/tre smokes or in any case every time you clean the pipe, also never store it for more than a day with a used filter inserted. For good functioning of the pipe even without a filter, we recommend inserting the adapter (supplied) in its place

The first piece of advice is to take slow puffs and to slow down if the pipe gets excessively hot: this is the only real solution.

The bowl of the lit pipe is always hot and establish up to which temperature level you can reach is difficult if you don't have special tools.

We have solved the problem in the way we are now explaining.

When the pipe is being run in, you need to occasionally hold it in your hands and slowly count to six. If you succeed, you can safely continue smoking the pipe, otherwise you must stop until the pipe has cooled down.

Long waits are not necessary: ​​a few seconds of interruption are generally enough and most of the time it is not even necessary to light the pipe again. If the pipe goes out anyway, no big deal: you turn it back on. In fact, many burns are caused by smokers who fear that the pipe will go out and therefore inhale too frequently.

1. This is the extreme consequence that the smoker incurs by systematically insisting on the above case and relighting the tobacco at the bottom of the stove even when it is now just ash.

2. The burn in the central area of ​​the bowl is due, when the pipe is new, to excessively violent aspirations, generally caused by incorrect loading of the bowl with subsequent overheating. In this case you need to slow down the pace of your intake or better yet let the pipe cool down completely.

3. This type of burn, on the edge of the stove, is caused by the lighter flame being held too high and to the side.

Our pipes are measured using these five values:
